Spectre and Meltdown Impact – Special Offer to Informatica Customers
As you may know, the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) became aware on January 3, 2018 that some CPU hardware implementations are at risk to a class of security vulnerabilities called Spectre and Meltdown.
Informatica is doing something about it! As our trusted partner, we want to let you know of the special offer we are extending to customers grappling with the threat.
According to NCCIC, an attacker could exploit these hardware security vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access to arbitrary in-memory data, including sensitive or privileged information processed on an affected computer.
NCCIC has also stated that, “after patching, performance may be diminished by up to 30 percent. Administrators should ensure that performance is monitored for critical applications and services, and work with their vendor(s) and service provider(s) to mitigate the effect if possible.”
Special Offer for Customers
To help our customers, Informatica is providing usage of up to 30% more CPU capacity, free for 30 days, from the time the patch is applied, for all on-premises and cloud customers, as they figure out how much extra CPU / capacity they will need. This is a great opportunity to support customers facing a complex situation and allow them to evaluate their needs.
How to Activate
To activate the offer, customers should login to their account and submit a request via a support ticket to Informatica Global Customer Support (GCS), to get temporary capacity relief while evaluating OS patches.
We encourage you to spread the word to our joint customers about the special offer:
