To Be or Not To B2B – THAT is the Question at Informatica World 2016

BillS

This week’s blog is ghost written by Bill Shakespeare, technical writer, who also writes plays and sonnets in his spare time.  It’s rumored that Bill will make an appearance at this year’s Informatica World 2016 but I can’t vouch for that.  However, several brilliant speakers and sessions on B2B ARE GUARANTEED to make an appearance (and which you won’t want to miss.)

The first session, “What’s New In Informatica B2B and Allied Solutions” DI&BD108, is taking place Wednesday May 25th at 13:45 in Room 2004, Moscone West. Gartner estimates that 50% of the data in an organization is coming from external sources so it’s never been more important to manage the flow of data to and from your partners and suppliers.  In this session, Einat Haftel of Informatica will give an update on the B2B product and then Brett Mitchell from Allied Solutions will describe how they increase operational excellence by using Informatica B2B Data Exchange, Data Transformation, the EDI Accelerator and PowerCenter to re-engineer the on boarding and data exchange process.

The second session, DI&BD109, “A Major Application Consolidation and Modernization Initiative” on Monday May 23th at 9:45 in Room 2004, Moscone West. American Equity and AXA will talk about their best practices for Application Modernization and Consolidation.  AXA will describe their best practices for consolidating SAP and PeopleSoft applications.  This approach demonstrated success with several business units and is now being rolled out in North America.  American Equity will present how their policy creation  and customer loyalty improved from implementing Informatica PowerCenter, B2B Data Exchange, & Data Transformation with libraries for the DTCC and ACORD standards to streamline and automate their collaborations with partners and key internal applications.

So now that you know that, here’s Bill’s blog post–

To Be, or Not To B2B, that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind and business processes to suffer
The slings and arrows of antiquated EDI translations,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles from EDI vendor EOL proclamations
And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep,
No more; and by sleep to say Trading Partner B2B Gateway obsolescence
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That business partner flesh is heir to: ’tis a Modernization task
Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep, to find a better B2B Gateway solution;
To sleep, perchance to dream of better trading partner portals—ay, there’s the rub:
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When ye have shuffled off your current, mortal, brittle & ancient EDI gateway software,
Must give us pause—there’s the respect
That makes calamity of end of B2B gateway long life.
For IT, who would bear the whips and scorns of time and the business side …
And enterprises of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry
And perhaps, lose the name of action to license Informatica B2B Data Exchange

Hope to see you at the Informatica World 2016.
