Should CDOs Drive Corporate Digital Disruption?
While the answer to this question will take time to answer, it is clear now that digital disruption is the reason that Chief Data Officers (CDOs) often get hired in the first place. This is a finding of research recently conducted by Forrester Consulting for Informatica. The research will be released at The Digital Disruption Summit on May 23rd. This research also provides a set of recommendations for CDOs wanting to be successful at the nascent role. This makes, in my book, the Data Disruption Summit a must attend event for new and existing CDOs.
In addition to Gene Leganza, Vice President, Principal Analyst, Forrester, the summit will include the following speakers:
- Gwen Thomas, Founder of the Data Governance Institute and Corporate Data Advocate at The World Bank Group discussing “The Emerging CDO and their role in data governance”
- Derek Strauss, Chief Data Officer, TD Ameritrade discussing, “A CDO’s Perspective on Big Data and Digital Transformation”
- Jeannie Ross, Director of MIT/CISR and the author of IT Data Governance discussing “The Emerging Digital Economy”
- Vijay Gurbaxani, Director, Center for Digital Transformation, University of California, Irvine, The Paul Merage School of Business discussing “Disruption Is Closer Than You Think”
The summit represents a rare opportunity to network with other CDOs and share best practices. To learn more about the summit, please click this link to the event.
