MDM Day in New York a Huge Hit, Thanks to YOU!
Beyond our wildest expectations—not to mention our original room reservations—the Third MDM Day event on February 19th was a tremendous success, a “three-peat” if you will. Expecting 100 attendees, we had nearly 500 registrations and a crowd of 350 who braved the weather, including a quarter of whom traveled from outside the tri-state area, to join us in New York City for a wall-to-wall day of MDM discussion and presentations.
We confirmed that MDM is a very hot topic in today’s business environment with such a large number of attendees as well as seven generous sponsors: Cognizant, Deloitte, Infoverity, High Point Solutions, Knowledgent, LumenData, and Wipro.
Attendees were rewarded with a valuable education from several of our customers. The morning kicked off with a talk on “Five Proven Data Governance Best Practices” from Barbara Latulippe, senior director of enterprise information management at EMC. Our next presenter was the head of enterprise architecture at Thomson Reuters, Igor Tosic, who led us through his company’s transformation to a customer-centric organization and the role MDM played in that evolution. Jerry Smith, enterprise data architect at BC/BS of New Jersey, led the day’s final customer presentation on “How Multi-domain MDM Drives Business Value through Innovation” outlining his company’s success in their approach. Each customer presentation was followed by a panel discussion with time for questions and sharing from the audience. Attendees’ questions were smart, on point, and led to highly informative discussions on each MDM topic.
After lunch, Informatica led two presentations on the our own products, specifically the Hybrid MDM Architecture and its capabilities and roadmap. Informatica’s Suresh Menon and Steve Hoskin led these presentations. Then Ron Matusof outlined Best Practices for future development with the Hybrid product. This was followed up with break-out sessions on implementation designed for current customers and partners, as well as demo sessions for prospective customers. The afternoon also incuded an opportunity for a hands-on MDM lab with experts answering questions on everything MDM.
With such a hunger for information on MDM, Informatica is committed to keep the learning alive with an online micro-site that will host the presentation decks from the February MDM Day. The next MDM Day will be at Informatica World in Las Vegas on May 12th. Want to know who is speaking and what sessions we have planned there? Attend this sneak peak session on March 10, 2014. Also, I will personally be hosting a Webinar on March 19, 2014 titled “MDM as a Platform for Systems Consolidation, Migration and Upgrade.” Sign up today and stay tuned for more!
