On April 29, 2014, Informatica celebrated the 15th anniversary of our initial public offering in New York City. Several of our executives, leaders and employees made the journey to commemorate the occasion.
The team began the festivities by visiting the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square. There, we received a warm welcome from NASDAQ Senior Vice President, Bob McCooey, who had this to say about our accomplishments:
“There’s a lot to celebrate … during those past 15 years, Informatica has gone through an amazing transformation. And you’ve experienced some tremendous growth … Your revenue during that period of time has increased over 2,000% and your share price has increased over 280%. Wonderful achievement, congratulations all of you.” – Bob McCooey
Next, our Chairman and CEO Sohaib Abbasi thanked the team for their amazing results:
“In 1999 we had 250 employees, 350 customers and 63 million in annual revenue. 15 years later, we are 15 times bigger. We have 3,340 employees, 5,000 customers and 948 million dollars in annual revenue. It is quite an accomplishment! I want to thank you and our team for your incredible dedication to customer success and innovation.” – Sohaib Abbasi
Mr. Abbasi also explained the role Informatica is playing to improve the world’s future.
“Informatica is helping our customers make the world a better place … Helping cancer centers find the cure by mastering clinical and genomics data … Helping friends and family send money to those in need by helping banks exchange financial data. ” – Sohaib Abbasi
After Mr. Abbasi performed the bell ringing honors, he was joined by our executives and employees for a moment of joyful reflection.
Partnering with Per Scholas
After the NASDAQ ceremony was complete, Informatica had the honor of hosting an event with Per Scholas. Per Scholas was founded in 1995 as a neighborhood-based effort to increase access to personal computers. Today, they provide technology, education, training and job placement services for people in under-served communities. In fact, they operate the largest and oldest professional IT workforce development program in New York City. On April 29, 2014, through our partnership with Per Scholas, a number of our employees were privileged to provide career coaching to New York City students.
All in all, it was a terrific day, a worthwhile celebration and a chance to make a difference.
