Announcing Informatica Cloud Spring 2013

On Wednesday we announced our latest cloud integration release – Informatica Cloud Spring 2013. It’s a major step forward in terms of breadth and depth for our software as a service (SaaS) solution. Why, you ask?

Well, yes…but…there are a few aspects to today’s announcement that I think are particularly noteworthy. Here’s a summary.

New Cloud Data Masking:  As Evan Quinn, senior principal analyst at ESG notes: “There is an ever-increasing amount of data in the cloud that, just as with on-premise data, needs to be protected throughout its lifecycle.” About to enter pre-release, this is the first of our application information lifecycle management (ILM) product line being delivered as a cloud service. Got feedback? Be sure to take our Cloud ILM survey.

New Cloud Process Creation and Management: We are excited to announce the acquisition of Active Endpoints with this release. Active Endpoints is a pioneer in workflow and process design capabilities for cloud and mobile integration use cases. This technology is going to be a key part of our integration platform as a service (iPaaS) capabilities and it’s already a popular product today on the Salesforce AppExchange.

Enterprise Cloud Integration Updates: The new hybrid security option allows customers to store their connection credential behind the firewall instead of in our multi-tenant cloud-based repository. Org-level blackouts give administrators more control of what is running and what is not when their SaaS apps are being upgraded. Many additional features come directly from our Community Ideas site – check it out and please join in!

Expanded Coud Data Quality and MDM: The Spring 2013 release expands the feature set and certifications for our Contact Validation Service. Later this month and then in March there will be major updates to our Cloud MDM capabilities for Salesforce customers. This announcement focused on our multi-org consolidation for Salesforce features.

Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS): One particularly notable Cloud Connector is the one we announced last week for Amazon Redshift. Others include: Microsoft Dynamics AX and NAV, Microsoft TFS, Oracle CRM On Demand and QuickBooks. There are also new Cloud Integration Templates you can access and provision directly from the Informatica Marketplace.
