Informatica Advances Cloud Integration and Data Quality

Informatica Cloud Winter 2013 has arrived. This is the fourteenth release of the company’s award-winning family of cloud integration applications and integration platform as a service (iPaaS),  which has now expanded to include Informatica Cloud Master Data Management (MDM). In this post I’ll provide an overview of the new cloud integration and cloud data quality capabilities. Be sure to register for a 30 day trial and/or attend the release webinar on Thursday to see Informatica Cloud in action.

Cloud Integration

Business agility is always high on any list of cloud computing drivers. As Salesforce MVP and CRM Manager Javier Gonzalez noted in this case study, “Thanks to Informatica Cloud, Prestige Cruise Holdings’ innovation and business agility are light-years ahead of where they used to be.” The new release once again focuses on enabling self-service by simplifying the end-user experience. New productivity enhancements include: advanced search, updated wizards, easier access to online resources and support, improved navigation and an overall interface redesign. Watch the video.

Informatica Cloud is a multi-tenant service, which means that all customers run the same version of the software. It also means that we can track usage trends (without storing/hosting customer data) to understand feature adoption. We also have a very active Community and we encourage customers and partners to post ideas and vote them up and down. This release delivers a number of enterprise-focused features that come directly from the Community such as lookup functions with built-in data type transformations, the ability to define custom integration parameters in external files, and new run-time attribute settings for Cloud Integration Templates. New Informatica Marketplace Get it Now features will go live later this month, making it even easier to get started with cloud connectivity. There are number of new cloud connectors available with the Winter 2013 release including Concur, Workday and Marketo. If you’re just getting started and need a cloud connector, be sure to visit the two new Cloud Malls on the Informatica Marketplace:

Cloud Data Quality

As Alex Bates, head of channel marketing at Gorkana Group, notes in this interview, “our data is quite interlinked and seeing the connections is key to whom we communicate to and what we communicate to them.” Informatica Cloud MDM is a master data management solution built natively on the Force.com platform that enables salesforce.com customers to cleanse, de-duplicate, and enrich data. The Winter 2013 release introduces the ability to manage, import and consolidate multiple types of hierarchies directly within Salesforce. Additional updates include support for person accounts, guided set-up that incorporates implementation best practices and schema introspection and delta detection with the Informatica MDM Multidomain edition. Informatica Cloud Address Validation is a new point-of-entry application also designed for salesforce.com customers. It enables users to validate in real-time records against the Address Doctor library of over 240 countries and territories. Sign Up Today.
