Informatica Positioned in the Recent Gartner Magic Quadrant for MDM

Gartner recently published its annual Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Customer Data Solutions, which “positions MDM of customer data solution vendors (and their products) on the basis of their Completeness of Vision relative to the market and their Ability to Execute on that vision.” The growth of MDM market has been phenomenal – $1.6 billion in 2011, a growth of 21% from 2010, and projected to grow by the same rate to $1.9 billion in 2012.

Informatica is one of the three vendors in the Leaders. Based on this year’s performance, Informatica is placed in the Leaders quadrant based on the Completeness of Vision with the following evaluation criteria being heavily weighted: market understanding, marketing strategy, offering (product) strategy, vertical/industry strategy and innovation. .

Informatica MDM supports Universal MDM – the ability to handle multidomain, multistyle, multideployment, and multiuse requirements. With its flexible and client-driven data model, Informatica MDM can handle any and all data domains, such as customers, products, assets, locations, etc. Gartner defines four MDM architectural styles—registry, consolidated, coexistence, and centralized, and Informatica MDM supports all four styles within the same product. Informatica MDM can be deployed on-premise, in the cloud, or as a hybrid of the two. Finally, Informatica integrates Data Integration and Data Quality on a unified platform supporting reuse of business rules across the different products—hence, multiuse.
